40 Things I’m Thankful For

Happy Thanksgiving! There is so much to be grateful and thankful for.

Here are 40 of mine…

1. All of you! Allowing Ilovetowatchyouplay into your feed and your inbox 🫶🏼
2. Having my three daughters home together for Thanksgiving
3. Girls and women’s sports rising up
4. Sunrises on the way to early games
5. My daughter getting clarity on her sports path
6. Long walks with my dogs to Starbucks for a pup cup (and the baristas who get them for us)
7. My Mom’s health and my Dad’s energy around new ideas
8. Volleyball games as a family at the park
9. A growing new business
10. A performance trainer who pushes my kids
11. My daughter getting playing time her first year in college
12. My partner and his support for all the kids sports – driving, watching, being their biggest fans. And his calm, kind, energy and love in our home.
13. A coach who ‘sees’ my daughter and cares for her outside of her being a good athlete
14. A club team that has balance and allows some flexibility
15. The coach that gave my daughter a good ‘kick in the pants’ when she needed it
16. A long Thanksgiving Day hike with dogs and the entire family
17. Watching my daughter put in the extra work – when I haven’t reminded her
18. Being able to step outside of the moment and see all the growth my kids have been doing this past year
19. Watching my daughter operate with grace and as she worked through one of the toughest seasons in her sports
20. All the team parents that volunteer and work so hard to keep our teams running smoothly and all the refs
21. Professional level photos of my daughter playing soccer
22. The incredible athletic trainers both of my kids have encountered at their schools – they go above and beyond daily
23. All my friends I couldn’t do this life without them
24. My brothers and their families (and our entire Mullin Mountain extended family group)
25. My daughter facing a very difficult challenge this summer and finding her way through it
26. My health
27. My on-going spiritual quest and what I’ve learned so far
28. All three of my kids’ very different and amazing schools and the fact they each love them so much
29. College football on Saturdays
30. Watching Michigan basketball/Arsenal
31. The new energy and movement among youth sports leaders that they need to partner with parents more effectively
32. A new club team for my daughter that’s not only one of the best in the country, but the owner is kind and helpful
33. Being faced with new sports parents challenges this year and testing my learning and teachings
34. Friends who have helped my kids with incredible advice and mentorship
35. An opportunity to be there for my daughter in a way I haven’t been able to prior
36. Being challenged personally this year in many ways, and (for the most part) staying positive and hopeful
37. My daughter embracing and thriving with a new and difficult level of sport
38. Teachers and adults who see the uniqueness of my kids and their gifts
39. A coach who has gone above and beyond to make sure my daughter has what she needs to succeed this Winter
40. The incredible women and men who I have called on for mentorship

This could probably go on and on. I loved this exercise. Funny how much of this list is actually hard/tough times when I look back through it, but so grateful for those opportunities to grow.

Happy Thanksgiving.
