It was another weekend full of sports, but for once, not OUR kids’ sports. We visited two of the finest universities in Southern California, USC, and UCLA, and watched amazing athletes perform at high levels. Yes, some might think we are crazy to finally have a free weekend and CHOOSE to spend it watching more games, but I am a firm believer in this one very simple concept:
If you can see it, you can do it.
And the inverse is true as well. If you can’t imagine it or picture it, it will be very hard to accomplish.
If your child has the desire to play their sport at a high level, there is nothing better than going to a live game. It doesn’t have to be a $150 ticket to a pro game. They will get plenty out of seeing a live high school or college game.
I often would take my girls to watch top collegiate athletes as we are fortunate to live close to USC, UCLA, and Pepperdine. We have watched many water polo, volleyball, basketball, and women’s soccer games and the teams are consistently some of the best in the country. Seeing the physical play and the speed up close is incredible. The speed of play and the incredible noise the ball made each time one of those powerful athletes kicked it won’t be easily forgotten by my youngest two daughters who both play club soccer.
